Our Topic for the Marketing Plan

With today's society becoming increasingly more health conscious, we thought it would be a good idea to combine humanitarian efforts with healthy foods. So we created "Don't Panic They're Organic" as an idea to raise free range chickens in the healthiest environment possible with absolutely no hormones. This will be very appealing to a particular type of health conscious person. Although this may limit the population that we can sell our organic chicken to, we feel strongly that our customers will be life long customers and the demand will be high enough for us to be successful.

The above link is an article describing the demand for organic chicken. It the most popular organic meat available, and seven in ten organic consumers purchase it. We are confident we can dominate the market by broadcasting that our chickens are raised in a humane environment.

  2. This will be an awesome niche concentrating on health conscious individual like you said. Organic Chicken is a good alternative and it also helps people that are suffering from Gout and can't eat meat because of the illness.
I think it also is good for toning down muscles and helps in losing weight!

Maybe you can look for a statistics of the number of people that is suffering from Gout from the government's health census if they have one, or maybe a local government? Just an idea if you have not already thought of it that you guys can try to get. Of course that depends on if this census do exist and easily obtainable.

I am looking forward to hear more of your plans! :)

    1. Yes Joshua, you are correct poultry is a good source of protein which aides in the repairing and building of muscles. As we are directed towards the health conscious individual we are likely going to be targeting several athletes and gym-goers as well.

The Gout statistic might be an interesting statistic to find, in which may provide another demographic for us to target. Thanks for the idea!!

Please also take a few moments to take our survey :)

    1. This is true. We want to provide a healthy poultry for our customers that eliminates any unnecessary hormones that other farm raised chickens may have. KFC might be a company to target to promote our chickens so people will still be able to have their love of chicken but in a healthier way.

Please take a few minutes to complete our short survey!! We would like to see where organic products stand in peoples meal plans!

  4. It's great that you have already specified your target market, which is people who are health conscious. A possible promotional strategy can be increasing health awareness. You also addressed the environment in which the chickens are raised, which is great. I know people who can be skeptical about where their foods come from, especially if they are going to pay a higher price.

    1. That is our GOAL!! We want to address and build strong relationships with the customers of the health conscious demographic. We plan on creating a promotional sample at local groceries stores to inform current and potential customers the health benefits of purchasing our products! But the price will be worth the extra dollar in the end...it might mean a few extra years to your life.

Please take a few moments to answer our survey in the following blog, so that we can get an idea of prices people would be willing to purchase our product!

    2. We definitely feel our product is worth the extra expense and are confident our target market will feel the same. Don't Panic They're Organic will continuously strive to educate our current consumers as well as potential prospects. We welcome all!

  5. This is great idea for people who really care about their health issue but are meat lovers at the same time, in my opinion. This will be a very good supplement for them to stay healthy instead of eating fake chicken made out of bean curd for vegetarian people. However, there is a down side, which is the price. A lot of people do want to stay healthy but sometimes because of the price, they cant afford it.

    1. Yes Cristina, you are right. Consumers are very concerned about how much they are spending on food, but we feel that our product is worth the few extra dollars. You cannot put a price on health and we plan on educating our consumers on what they are really putting in their bodies when they eat store bought chicken. We also plan on catering to a small niche of people, so they will be more likely to be willing to spend the extra money, but you bring up a very valid argument.

  10. This is a growing trend now because we all are becoming more environmentally aware and more conscious about being natural. Organic food can be effectively beneficial to those who concern about what they eat and maintaining a healthy lifestyle as well. I like your idea to use survey as an initial step to prepare your marketing strategies and set up your specific goals.

  11. Excellent idea. There is nothing more important than healthy food. I was wondering, after reading the article and seeing the growing demand for organic poultry, are you worried about bigger companies, such as Tyson, entering the market to fill that demand? If so, how will your company differentiate itself?

    1. Thanks John! Yes we have considered larger established companies, but we feel that we have a specific niche of consumers that we are targeting. When companies mass manufacture poultry it is virtually impossible to keep humane and free range. We want to differentiate by being a local farm that you can actually go to and see directly where your food comes from, larger companies cannot offer that.

We will go into detail about how they are raised, what they are feed, and how much they cost, as well as how healthy they are. Please check back as we produce our plan to find out more. 14. With chicken being the highest demanded organic meat this seems like a great idea. More people are resorting to organic foods to choose to be healthier. This should be successful as long as you guys can reach out to your target market and provide them with as much knowledge about what you guys are doing.

    1. That is our goal. Because it is in high demand our plan on providing some of the healthiest, hormone free poultry to the market. We plan on providing our potential customers will all the information that they need before consuming the chicken, such as raising them, and what they are feed.

  15. I LOVE this idea! I eat organic as much as I can. I avoid most meat if I don't know where it came from. Organic produce is easy enough to come by, but I'm currently looking for an organic poultry source. I've found a couple, but they're either too far or too expensive. If I can get cage-free, organically fed chicken, I will be a lifetime customer.

  16. This is a great idea. Being from San Francisco I have been raised in a very aware culture and eating organic is a large part of that. I love the direction you are going with and I can definitely see myself being a long time customer if it plans out! Poultry has always been a large part of my diet and I would love to have a way to continue and improve upon a healthy lifestyle

  17. I think having organic chicken is a great idea since it is the most widely distributed type of meat and there is always a fairly high demand for it. The fact that it is the cheapest source of protein makes it easier to sell slightly higher priced items when organic. Since there are so many other types of foods that are offered as organic, but there are not many meat items that are offered which makes it a great idea for you to create this organic chicken to customers who are health conscious.
