There's No Time to Chicken Out Now!

The time has come! Next week Don't Panic They're Organic! Farm will be presenting our marketing plan to the board for approval to become the next big thing in organic poultry processing. We would like to make our goal a reality in the year 2012.

We have recognized our potential customers and competitors, as well as finalized and addressed internal strengths, weaknesses, and possible external environmental opportunities and threats that we may encounter along the way.

For example:
  • Customers: Health conscious individual
  • Competitors:  Wise Organic Pastures and other local organic poultry farm
  • Strengths: Knowledgeable agricultural team, and strong RD and marketing team
  • Weaknesses: New company and lack financial resources
  • Opportunities: Growth and brand awareness
  • Threats: Recession, unpredicted weather, and competitors
However, with relentless pursuit of quality, combined with our extensive background in agriculture and sheer passion we will propel the business into profitability. We have also calculated out the costs of raising our new little farm. We have currently estimated an increasing profit as we become more established. As a new company though, we view a negative profit the first year, as we lack the proper financial resources, but in no time will see great profits the years following. Don’t Panic They’re Organic! will succeed in developing a profitable business through the use of our two competitive advantages, true humanitarianism and excellence through quality.  We are in pursuit of ultimate quality coupled with the genuine care of a small, local grower.
Don’t Panic They’re Organic! Farm's will be the leading organic poultry farm in Temecula, CA with a rapidly developing consumer brand and growing customer base.  The guarantee of hormone-free, naturally raised, free-range organic poultry will be very appealing to customers.
Marketing will play a vital role in the success of Don’t Panic They’re Organic! Farm. Don’t Panic They’re Organic! must build a brand around the organic products it offers by heavily promoting itself through local advertising campaigns. A strong emphasis will be put on keeping existing customers and building brand loyalty through programs focused on staffing, experience, and customer satisfaction. With minimal start up costs and extensive employee knowledge, Don’t Panic They’re Organic will become profitable within the first few months of business.

What are you really paying for?

Has anyone ever ventured off to the store in search of a nice size chicken breast, only to come home, cook it, and watch it shrink? Chances are you might have purchased water and salt with your dinner. Many chickens are “plumped” with additives like water and salt to try to enhance some of the juiciness and flavor chicken eaters love to taste.
But why does the packaging say natural? Well, the package isn’t lying: water is natural, salt is natural. Unfortunately, consumers must carefully read all labeling information on packages to really know what is in their food.
In addition, we have all heard or been told that too much sodium intake can be harmful to our health. So, trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle may be more difficult than one thinks.
But Don’t Panic They’re Organic! is here to help that health conscious person by providing an alternative. Our company truly believes in giving you exactly what you pay for: chicken, chicken, and more chicken. We want to provide the healthiest, most wholesome kind of chicken available and know our consumers will find value in our efforts to accomplish this in a humanitarian atmosphere.

Our Topic for the Marketing Plan

With today's society becoming increasingly more health conscious, we thought it would be a good idea to combine humanitarian efforts with healthy foods. So we created "Don't Panic They're Organic" as an idea to raise free range chickens in the healthiest environment possible with absolutely no hormones. This will be very appealing to a particular type of health conscious person. Although this may limit the population that we can sell our organic chicken to, we feel strongly that our customers will be life long customers and the demand will be high enough for us to be successful.

The above link is an article describing the demand for organic chicken. It the most popular organic meat available, and seven in ten organic consumers purchase it. We are confident we can dominate the market by broadcasting that our chickens are raised in a humane environment.
